NATIVE MISSIONS

NATIVE |nādiv|

noun

A person born in a specified place or associated with a place by birth, whether subsequently resident there or not.

Scattered among or adjacent to the unreached people groups across the 10/40 window, there are local followers of Jesus who typically represent a small, often marginalized minority. They sometimes face tremendous pressure and persecution for their faith. In spite of the difficulty, there are many with a great vision to serve their communities and see kingdom transformation. They live out their faith with courage and selfless love. Our heart is to be family and to be a resource, enabling them to live out their God-given calling with joy and fruitfulness. Our dream is that the life of Jesus would be made manifest through His global body with authenticity, love, and power. We equip, empower and resource native missions; the God-given vision of the local people, through:

  • Mentorship

  • Training in discipleship, biblical studies, evangelism, and the supernatural movement of the Holy Spirit.

  • Facilitating partnerships, resourcing, and collaboration in humanitarian and community development projects.

Why native missions?

Native Jesus-followers are ideally positioned to reach these least-reached people groups with the gospel. They are fluent in the language and customs, they know how to operate in their own environment, and they can accomplish a lot with smaller budgets than foreigners can. Beyond the practical reasons, this is simply God’s plan — to pour out His Spirit on all mankind and raise up people from every place, race, gender, and class to carry out His mission to make earth more like heaven.

When Jesus went to the lost sheep of Israel, He went as one born among them.

What is our role?

We sit at a table as brothers and sisters, sharing life and strength with one another. As a global body, we present Jesus as the sum of all of us, with Christ Himself as the head. We walk together in friendship and partnership; lending strength so that others can rise in their God-given sphere of influence.
