Freedom
is within reach.
Help to change someone’s life today.
A strategic, sustainable approach.
-
1.
DEBT RELIEF
Pay off the debts of enslaved families so that they can go free.
-
2.
HOUSING
Supply housing outside the brick kilns, so they have somewhere to go.
-
3.
LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT
Jump-start a small business for the family, ensuring consistent income so that they do not return to predatory loan sharks.
-
4.
THE LOCAL CHURCH
Every step, from initial contact to longterm life beyond the kilns, is made in close collaboration with the local church; ensuring that the family’s spiritual, emotional, and communal needs are cared for long after the first step into freedom.
Hear their stories.
Millions of people, many of whom are persecuted Christians, are currently living as slaves.

New Life
Sahar* (name changed for security) was 9 months pregnant. She fell ill, unable to work her brutal job at the brick kiln for several days. In a fit of rage, the kiln owner came and found her, slashing her hand with a knife as punishment.
That same week, the time came to deliver the baby. An emergency cesarean section was needed, but she had no money, as she and her husband were slaves. They would be forced to go to her abuser and ask for money, increasing their debt and reducing the likelihood that they would ever be free. Glad World was able to pay her medical bills, so that this would not happen.
The baby is now healthy and strong, but the family’s situation is still the same. The child, born into slavery, will one day inherit his parents’ debt and continue the cycle of bonded labor.
Unless something changes.
We are working together with the local church, not only to set this family free, but to set them up with a sustainable livelihood so that they can stay free.
Please consider whether you will be a part of their story.
